Shidoshi, Sean Kennedy is a fluid and gracious mentor who teaches from the heart. He has followed martial arts as a lifelong path for over 30 years and strives to pass on the valuable lessons he’s learned to the next generation. He is currently Hachidan (8th degree black belt) in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. He also holds black belt ranking in Tae Kwon Do and Chinese Kenpo Karate.
As head instructor of Kasumi Mountain Martial Arts, he shares his understanding of the authentic arts of Japan’s ancient warrior lineage combined with his lessons from a life lived fully and closely with the Earth.
Tamara Herendeen is an experienced environmental educator and recreational program director. She has a background in helping kids learn to love nature through fun, hands on experiences. Most recently, she was the camp director for Los Gatos Farms Camp in Los Gatos, California. She has also served as the program director for Swannanoa 4-H Camp and as Environmental Education Specialist for the Berkley YMCA. Her other talents include music and art, which she weaves into camp through leading group songs and special art projects. Her strength is in cultivating engaging and dynamic experiences where children can discover the outdoors from multiple perspectives in a fun and safe environment.
